'Little Mongrels' is a great reminder of what it means to be young and will appeal to anyone who is "young at heart".
Whether they're chewing on a boot, sleeping in the woolshed, tearing up the vegetable patch or peering out the window of the Ute, these true-blue pups in the bush and on the farm remind everyone of what it means to be young. These uniquely Australian images are by acclaimed photographer David Darcy.
With many full-colour images and some nostalgic sepia tones, 'Little Mongrels' captures the moods and hijinks of puppies in typically Aussie settings. It features clever and heartwarming insights about pups, in text and images, as they explore their world, with sections on adventurous puppies, shy and curious pups, rascals, dreamers, brave pups and tender moments.
David Darcy has collected stunning images of a wide variety of pups: from cattle dogs, border collies and kelpies bred to work on the farm to great danes, labradors, golden retrievers, bulldogs, terriers and bitsas, and many more breeds throughout Australia, which are indulged pets. He has included some photographs of young pups that were adopted by loving "parents" through the RSPCA. In these images he shows how a tricky start to life can have a happy ending, while setting a good example for dog-lovers and dog-owners everywhere.
