Dalkey is a delightful and unspoiled seaside village. Its main street is bustling with pubs and restaurants, and it also has a couple of harbours. Visitors can make the 10-minute sailing across to the unspoiled Dalkey Island. Dalkey is also renowned for its castle and its heritage centre,as well as its annual books festival. Visitors can also enjoy climbing to the top of Dalkey Hill and also to the neighbouring Killiney Hill Park. Killiney is also noted for its main thoroughfare, the Vico Road, which in places is close to the sea. Both areas have considerable historical attractions. AUTHOR: Hugh Oram has been working as a media journalist for well over 50 years and as a book author for 40 years. He began my career in Belfast, but for about 45 years has been based in Dublin.
