Lily Bard is hiding from her past. She's interested in getting away from her troubles, not finding more. So it's unfortunate that she stumbles across the corpse of a local bodybuilder in the gym, his neck broken by a barbell.
With this death, the town's racial tensions reach boiling point. The dead man was connected to two unsolved murders of black residents. And as one dogged policeman tries to stop the killing, Lily is faced with a choice: stay and fight for justice, or run away one more time.
