Liferay in Action

Liferay Portal is widely recognized as one of the premier portals on the market today. It is an open source product that makes it very easy to create a well-integrated, dynamic web site. Its functionality includes many of the commonly used applications on web sites today: content management, message boards, wikis, blogs, chat, and more. Liferay in Action shows developers how to use Liferay Portal's powerful development platform in order to jump- start the creation of their own web site. They will learn how to use Liferay's Software Development Kit to create portlets (web applications which run in a portion of a page), themes, layout templates, and hooks, and how to leverage its powerful APIs to implement and integrate their own applications.
