Patrick Lichfield's photography has graced the world's media for over forty years. Lichfield's photography for the Queen magazine, and Life helped crystallise the 1960s visual aesthetic. His work made such an impression that Diana Vreeland, the influential editor of American Vogue, summoned him to work for her. He agreed in 1968, and became one of only five British photographers to be retained by the magazine since its foundation (Bailey, Beaton, Parkinson and Snowdon being the others). Lichfield's archive is a rich seam of culturally important photography, much of which has become synonymous with our perception of the celebrated and fashionable in the late 20th century. Since his death in 2005 his archive has been extensively catalogued, and this book shows a selection of these well-known images alongside recent discoveries made public for the first time. This collection of over 70 images reassesses Lichfield's archive and shows him to be one of the most influential photographers of the 20th century. 70 images
