Brought up by his grandparents in the remote Italian village of Vinci, Leonardo was always a little different from everyone else. He was trained to be a painter in Florence but only managed to produce about thirteen paintings, some of which he never finished. One of these is the Mona Lisa, the most famous painting in the world. He lived in a time when Europe was thirsting for new knowledge but he never received a formal education. However, he drew designs for helicopters, tanks and waterwheels that were hundreds of years ahead of their time. Discover the world of the Renaissance through the eyes of its most extraordinary genius.
