This book, the second published in the work of Miroshi Masaki, includes a series of personal, reflective and deeply formal photographs of Kyoto. Masaki, impressed by the traditional beauty and simple design of the temples, shrines and gardens of that city, portrays it as a place of spirituality, meditation and deep history. The images are accompanied by bilingual texts, in Japanese and English, written by Simon Baker, curator of photography and international art at the Tate Modern Gallery, and by the author himself.
