We first met Kirby MacLeod in 'Crystal Coffin', a book about her elder brother. In this story, she's fourteen and a magnet for trouble. It's opening day of career's week at Kirby's high security boarding school and over a thousand senior students from throughout South East Queensland have come to participate in the unique displays.
The only problem is, the biggest opportunity that's ever come Kirby's way is sitting in Ipswich that night, parked in a train stabling area and guarded by dogs, barbed wire and high tech security cameras.
The Great Southern Pacific Express is one of Australia's few remaining trains to avoid tagging by graffiti artists. Underground magazines have placed a bounty of $480,000 on its hide for the tagger who can prove they got it first.
But Kirby has a plan that will win her the bounty, leave the train in pristine condition and bag her a few extra grand along the way.
