1849. Reckless - some would say foolhardy - acts of bravery are not uncharacteristic of HMS "Tisiphone's" second lieutenant Kit Killigrew. So, when he is instrumental in capturing the infamous Chinese pirate Zhai Jing-mu and releasing his beautiful hostage Peri Dadabhoy en route to Hong Kong, no one is truly surprised.
