Kat McCrumble lives in the little village of Auchtertuie in the Highlands of Scotland. She helps her father run the Crumbling Arms inn, as well as looking after their many pets. It's happily chaotic.
But trouble is brewing – the luxury hotel nearby is trying to force Kat and her dad out of business, and, to make matters worse, badger baiters have been spotted in the area.
What can Kat do? Kat can get mad, that's what, and when that happens the world had better watch out! She hasn't got the McCrumble red hair for nothing . . .
