The mission of the Mwelu Foundation is to nurture the talent of children in the poorest communities of Nairobi by providing training in creative arts and essential life skills. They work with a group of approximately 40 ambitious, positive and talented young people to help them realise their potential through photography and film production. By providing children with a voice and promoting education they hope to break the cycle of poverty and violence that exists in their communities. Africalia and the Goethe Institute have joined hands to give a voice and visibility to the young talents of the Mwelu Foundation.
