Julianna awoke to a muffled scream, and arrived just in time to stop her employer, Ward Cabot, from suffocating her present charge, Cassandra Rakefield. Escaping into the night with the 6 year old heiress, Julianna is desperate to protect the girl. Julianna is convinced that if she can get to Thomas Rakefield, Cassandra's grandfather, she can convince him of Ward Cabot's guilt and her own innocence. The two stow away on a wagon headed out of town and are discovered by the owner, handsome cowboy Rill and his traveling companion Cropper. Rill is on his way to his newly purchased ranch in Wyoming and doesn't want anything to get in his way or slowing him down, especially not to ladies on the run. But Rill doesn't count on the attraction he feels for Julianna or the sympathy he feels for Cassandra and he eventually decides to help the two make it to the Tripple X just outside of Wyoming.
