The Schaubühne in Berlin is one of the leading German-language theatres in Germany and abroad. Six internationally acclaimed photographers of our time occupied themselves artistically with the Schaubühne's ensemble of actors. Juergen Teller was the first to do so, in 2013, and in the years that followed, Ute and Werner Mahler, Pari Dukovic, Brigitte Lacombe, and Paolo Pellegrin also took portraits of the Schauspiel ensemble. The respective photo posters shaped the cityscape of Berlin as an urban exhibition and can now all be seen together for the first time in this volume. The different signatures of the photographers - whether very spontaneous, extravagantly staged, austerely formal, purist, or psychologically contemplative - show the different facets of the actors and how the gaze of the photographer influences the individuals portrayed. An artistic work that documents an era. Text in English in German. 158 colour images
