It is 1991. Not unexpectedly, a Ducati motorcycle wins the Battle of the Twins race at Daytona, Florida, but the second placing is a surprise - an unknown motorcycle called a Britten. Rumour spreads that the sleek machine was hand-built by some guy in his home workshop in a little country at the end of the world - New Zealand. The designer of that motorcycle, John Britten, has struggled through his early school life. Marked as a boy who "could do better", John's learning difficulties did not stop him from following his passion and realising his dream.
