Jess the Border Collie owes his life to his owner Jenny Miles, and he'd do anything for her. They're the best of friends, and together, they're ready for all sorts of adventures.
It's nearly the end of the Easter holidays and Jess is out for a walk with Jenny along the cliffs. Down on the beach, Jess makes friends with Orla, a border collie whose owner has recently moved to the area. Jess and Orla discover a dead puffin-covered in Oil - the victim of a recent minor oil spillage. Jenny and David are concerned - how many more birds have suffered? And can they, together with Jess and Orla, find them and help them before it's too late?
