Jack Reacher walks alone. Once a go-to hard man in the US military police, now he's a drifter of no fixed abode. But the army tracks him down. Because someone has taken a long-range shot at the French president.
Only one man could have done it. And Reacher is the one man who can find him.
This new heartstopping, nailbiting book in Lee Child's number-one bestselling series takes Reacher across the Atlantic to Paris – and then to London. The stakes have never been higher - because this time, it's personal
PERSONAL
I am a huge fan of the Jack Reacher books, but I felt that 'A Wanted Man', was somehow different from the preceding books, and now 'Personal' comes out and it almost isn't Jack Reacher. Right away it got up my nose. The Army wants to contact him so places a 'want ad' in the personals section of the Army newspaper. Does the author think we are all dumb? So many times people have wanted to find Reacher, including the Army, on more than one occasion, yet this works almost instantly, and is then justified in a couple of paragraphs by stating that buses, bus stations etc are typical places for military personnel to hang out and leave their newspapers for Reacher to find. Funny how it's never come up before. Then the rest of his interactions with the people looking for him just aren't Reacher. I'm at page 122, and I'll finish the book because I paid 20 for it, but I'm not enjoying it even slightly, I bought 3 other books on the day, and can't wait to finish this and pick one of them up.
