The idea for this book came from Lipman's doodle of a steer in a dinner jacket, to which she gave a green carnation and named Oscar Wildebeest. After this breakthrough moment, Maureen became obsessive, boring friends and family with her latest creation. When she woke at 3 a.m. and said out loud, 'Tuna Stubbs!', the die was cast. A book was born.
