iOS Development: Use Apple's Development Tools To Write Apps For The iPhone And iPad.
Project-based guide takes beginning iOS developers from the basics of iOS development to writing their own apps.
Through a series of projects aimed at the beginning iOS developer, the book helps readers master the basics of iOS development.
Readers learn the concepts of iOS development by building real-world apps.
From the basics of iOS development to advanced topics such as debugging and performance testing, everything is covered.
This project-based book introduces readers to iOS development. Starting with basic concepts of app development, the author introduces readers to Objective-C and then launch into building apps. From building a productivity app to a 2D game, readers will learn about viewer controllers, custom views, motion sensing, multitasking, Grand Central Dispatch, OpenGL ES, and much more as they create the projects in the book. These projects build on each other and create a base of knowledge for the reader. Projects include:
A simple health checker. You can enter your weight and the exercise start and stop times, and it will create graphs to show your trends.
Building a simple tilt-to draw program. The cursor starts in the center of the screen, and moves as the user tilts the device, drawing a line behind it.
Building a simple podcast player, that allows us to subscribe to multiple feeds, download video and audio podcasts, and play them.
Creating a simple 2D pong game. The game will use a third-party library (cocos2D) as a wrapper around OpenGL ES, and for collision detection.
