"Warm-up exercises, a half-hour call, time to put on costumes and make-up. Dancers gather in the wings, five minutes to go. The orchestra is ready, house lights go down. The stage manager gives the cue, House curtain - Go!"
This is the moment everyone has been working for. For the time a ballet is chosen, people have been creating the dance, composing the music, designing costumes, sets and lighting; planning touring schedules, and booking theatres and orchestras. Others have been busy sewing costumes, making wigs, painting scenery, ordering shoes, preparing programs, raising funds and promoting the ballet.
