Discovering the Classic Interiors of Paris.
'Inside Paris' forms a unique portrait of this well-loved city, documenting over one hundred of its outstanding historic interiors. From the Roman baths at Hotel Cluny to the opulent staircases of the Second Empire Opera, and from the rational unyielding lines of Le Corbusier's Villa La Roche to a proto-psychedelic 1950s brasserie in the Pigalle district, the varying ages and styles of the city are uncovered.
Both author and photographer, Jerome Barblay, look at each interior with a fresh eye, whether it be a traditional boulangerie, a Belle Epoque cafe or an aristocratic town house. Each picture is accompanied by a short and lively text which details the architectural, decorative and historical points of interest of the building. This proves to be a rewarding and fascinating look at the varied interiors, both well and lesser known, of the seductive French capital.
