A little girl's father is a dabbler, always taking up different hobbies and then quickly replacing them with something new. In his special room, he has a jumble of all the things he has collected and bits and pieces from all the hobbies he has started over the years.

But one day the girl's father surprises her by clearing out his room and locking the door. What could be going on behind that locked door? She knows it must be something special. Then one night, when her parents have gone out, the girl sneaks into the room and discovers her father's secret . . . And it's the best present of all!
