When considering impressionism, we associate it with the atmospheric landscapes, lively portraits and city scenes of Monet, Renoir, Degas and Cézanne. Utilising a sketchy painting style, which was accomplished in situ, these artists were able to capture the moment, with their colors corresponding to the prevailing light and weather conditions. This volume, featuring around 300 illustrations, gives an overall perspective of the painting of the impressionists.
