This book is a practical guide to the commercial production of vegetables and cut flowers in hydroponics. It is designed to assist new growers establish a hydroponic system, as well as help experienced growers improve their production techniques.
In this introductory chapters the author clearly explains the theory and practice of hydroponics including choosing, setting up and operating a commercially viable system. The major systems are examined, and detailed information is provided on the equipment, materials and environmental conditions required for producing high quality yields.
The second part of the book contains specific information on growing major horticultural crops in hydroponics. Eight crops: capsicums, carnations, cucumbers, lettuce, roses, strawberries, tomatoes and green feed (animal fodder) are examined in detail. In each case particular emphasis is given to describing commercial varieties and hydroponic culture.
