Oceans provides a detailed outline of the issues facing these vast areas of water that cover 71 per cent of the Earth's surface. The physical nature of the oceans, how man has explored and observed the oceans and what the future holds for the oceans is beautifully illustrated. Unique ocean mapping created by the same cartographers who produce the Times Comprehensive Atlas of the World with expert contribution from the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Previously unpublished 3D views of the oceans developed by NOAA will help the reader to understand and visualize the structure of the oceans.
