Heaven, Ohio, is a great place to raise a family. Marley should know. She's lived there with Momma, Pops, and her brother, Butchy, since before she can remember. By comparison, they're the perfect family. Or are they? Momma and Pops have been keeping secrets - and telling lies.
It turns out that they're not Marley's real parents after all. Marley's real mother is dead and her endlessly roaming, letter-writing "uncle" is actually her father. So Marley's got some big questions. Like, who are these people that she thought were her mother and father? And why did they think it was OK to lie to her? And most important, why has her real father stayed away from her?
With no where else to turn, Marly looks to her troubled best friend, Shoogy, and her neighbor Bobby, a single father, for answers.
