Heartland is a horse farm nestled in the hills of Virginia, but it's much more than that. Heartland is a place like no other - a place where the scars of the past can be healed, a place where frightened and abused horses learn to trust again.
When a new strain of equine flue hits Heartland, Any is devastated. How can she watch all the horses suffer, while knowing that there's nothing she can do but wait it out? The stables are in quarantine, and tensions are running high - even between Amy and her boyfriend Ty. Then disaster strikes - a tornado hits the back barn, and Amy is forced to watch as Ty risks his life to save one of the horses.
