'What are you thinking, Amy?' The question I've asked most often during our marriage, if not out loud, if not to the person who could answer. I suppose these questions stormcloud over every marriage: 'What are you thinking? How are you feeling? Who are you? What have we done to each other? What will we do?'

Just how well can you ever know the person you love? This is the question that Nick Dunne must ask himself on the morning of his fifth wedding anniversary when his wife Amy suddenly disappears. The police immediately suspect Nick. Amy's friends reveal that she was afraid of him, that she kept secrets from him. He swears it isn't true. A police examination of his computer shows strange searches. He says they aren't his. And then there are the persistent calls on his mobile phone. So what really did happen to Nick's beautiful wife? And what was in that half-wrapped box left so casually on their marital bed? In this novel, marriage truly is the art of war. . .

I always love it when I find a new author to obsess over - even better when they're Aussie! This book was fantastically written and gripping from the get go. The dual timelines allowed the story to unfold in an interesting way, with you finding out little nuggets of information that have you guessing until the end. Recommended for the psych-thriller veteran or anyone after an addictive read! - Kayla (QBD)

Gone Girl
This is one of those books that I simply could not put down until I had finished. It kept me on the edge of my seat, rooting for the characters and not knowing what to expect next. Having the plot twist halfway through the novel changes changes the entire mood of the novel from a twisted whodunnit to a gripping high stakes game of cat-and-mouse. Don't miss it! Reviewed by 52mm

Gone girl
Nick and Amy are a happily married couple, or are they One morning on their 5th wedding anniversary Amy goes missing, guess who they blame, yes Nick of course. The husband is the first person the police accuse of killing Amy, because all of the evidence points to him. Was it a set up to get back at Nick, did somebody else break in and kidnap her? There's been no ransom note. While you're reading- are you on Nicks side? I don't want to spoil it, but you change sides continually throughout this thought-provoking read. This is probably on of the best psychological crime thrillers that I have read in a long time. Read the book before the movie, which comes out later in 2014. Reviewed by 54bz

Gone girl by Gillian Flynn
Wow. Wife goes missing. Husband is the main suspect. Is she alive or is she dead Who can we trust to tell us the truth We are introduced to their early love story and the way the marriage has unfolded. Theres one amazing twist and revelation after another. Narrated in first person by the two main characters hers is in journal form, so we dont know if shes still alive when we read it, it works really well, by withholding information. This is the book for you if you love suspense and dont mind severely bitten fingernails. Im not sure I was altogether happy with the ending but the journey was well worth it.
