At the age of 35 Andri Tolmi quit his job as a civil engineer and decided that it was time to see something of the world. It was during a brief stop-over in Mongolia that he became struck by two things: he loved the country, but most of all he missed playing golf. A plan began to hatch in his mind . . .
Devising his own course, starting from the first tee in Choybalsan, he swung his way through to the 18th hole at Dund-Us. It took him 90 days and 12,170 shots to cover a total distance of 1,234 miles - or 2,171,505 yards. He lost 509 balls and finished up 290 over par.
This fascinating, funny and ultimately uplifting story is a glimpse into a strange and unusual country, as well as a tale of endurance and determination.
