English/Chinese bilingual. Public art groups together diverse works with a point in common--they have a confirmed artistic character or appeal in the heart of the urban space which is the city. They are most often found in the open air, sometimes in a more private space, but always visible without an entry charge and easy for the visitor to access. In this book the works of art are classed under eight thematic chapters which represent the multiple facets of artworks in public places, and which forms an exploratin of the meaning of the city, and of our habits. Thus public art testifies to political dynamism and vitality in artistic creation, intervening as an important element in our living enviroment.
