This book is a carefully curated collection of articles and speeches written by
Senator David Leyonhjelm since his election at the federal election in 2013, with
some slightly edited to keep them current. This book sets out to achieve the same
purpose as when the articles were fi rst published and when the speeches were fi rst
delivered.
David seeks to expose people to the principles of liberty in the hope that they will
agree that less government and more personal responsibility will lead to a much
happier and more prosperous society.
About the Author:
David Leyonhjelm is an Australian Senator for the Liberal Democratic Party. He
was elected in 2013 and re-elected in 2016. As the fi rst politician to be elected to
an Australian parliament representing a genuinely libertarian party, David bears
a major responsibility. While the libertarian concept is relatively well known in
the United States, and classical liberalism is somewhat understood in Britain and
Europe generally, neither is part of the usual political dialogue in Australia.
