Charming modern interpretations of seventeenth century floral designs from the town of Assendelft in The Netherlands. Unusually for that period, the designs are realistic, not stylised, and include flowers rarely seen in traditional European folk art: daffodils, iris, cornflowers, lily-of-the-valley, hyacinths, pansies - as well as tulips and roses. The techniques required are very simple, based on just a few strokes, and the results are satisfyingly complex. Complete patterns and instructions are included for numerous projects, including plaques, boxes, trays, and a trinket chest.
