Finding, Transmitting, Receiving is the first major anthology of the work of internationally renowned photographer and filmmaker Hannah Collins. The book collects together for the first time the extensive body of work that Collins has produced over the last 15 years. Collins is celebrated for her large-scale photography installations and films, often focusing the places occupied by people living on the margins or borders of society. Winner of the prestigious European Photography Award, The Olympus Award, and shortlisted for the Turner Prize, Collins is currently Visiting Professor at The Royal College of Art in London and Professor in Photography at The University of California at Davis. The book consists of photographs, film scripts, found family portraits and childhood drawings, and coincides with the opening of an exhibition of Collins' work at the Fundacion La Caixa in Madrid, which will then go on to tour worldwide. Finding, Transmitting, Receiving is an important, compelling document of the work of one of the foremost contemporary photographers. The book includes both famous works and never-before-seen pictures as well as the complete scripts for her film projects.
