A festival is a great way of getting to know a place and the people who live there - how they like to enjoy themselves, and maybe some of their background. But is isn't always easy to find out what's happening, and when. So, in order to make life easier for others, the authors compiled this book - a task that took them on a year-long, 17,000 km trek around Australia.
What they found was a rich cornucopia of events that runs the gamut from highbrow arts festivals all the way to dunny races, and 240 of them finally made their way into these pages. Included are: festivals with a theme, or that are held in a place that's interesting to visit; music festivals and major concerts; a few important sporting events; and the catch-all, offbeat events that allow the authors to include anything else that they think is fun. The result is a broad selection of what's happening each month around the country.
