The city of Carthage has fallen to the Romans and Sara, privileged daughter of a Carthaginian senator, must flee for her life. Her brother has been slain on the battlefield and it is up to her to gather her grieving father and take to the seas. Equipped only with a meagre cargo to trade, her healing skills and her wit and courage, Sara must face a life wildly different from anything she thought possible, far from home, menaced by storm, war and pirates.
