The Five Find-Outers think their holiday will be ruined when Fatty is ordered to look after the dreadful Eunice. However, a fair and a conference of beetle-lovers bring an escaped convict and a peculiar mystery to the village which Bets, Pip, Daisy, Larry, Fatty and Buster the dog determine to solve. When they get more than they bargained for, it is Eunice who comes up trumps and together they outwit Mr Goon, the local policeman, to solve the case.
