The Five Find-Outers, Fatty, Larry, Daisy, Pip and Bets, are together once more for the Easter holidays and quickly become involved in a very peculiar situation, trying to solve the mystery of the spiteful letters that arrive, unsigned, for various people in Peterswood. Mr Goon, the policeman, tries to solve the mystery too, and comes up against Fatty who, in various disguises, manages to totally confuse the policeman!
