Cris and Amie have known each other forever. Growing up on neighboring English countryside estates, Amie was the pesky little sister Cris never wanted. When Cris leaves for London and University, Amie is sure it will break her heart; she's secretly begun thinking of him as her very own knight in shining armor.
Flash forward 10 years: When Cris returns to the country he finds Amie all grown up and her family (all four little sisters) and estate in disarray. Ever the noble gentleman, Cris prepares to save Amie and her family from destitution by offering to be their guardian. Amie's pride is wounded (she thinks he's going to propose marriage not guardianship) and her dander is up since Cris just won't see her as the woman she's become. Cris and Amie tangle as they work toward their common goal and fall madly, desperately in love in the process.
