It's boiling hot and Egg heads off to the beach. He soon finds, though, that he's not really the right shape for surfing and he gets dumped.
Some kids are searching for shells, so Egg decides that would be a safer bet. He hauls back seaweed, sticks, all sorts of things, but not the kind of shells he wants.
Egg is tired so he takes a nap, but he's woken up by the water lapping round his feet: the tide has come in and everything is wet.
A girl shows him that if you hold an abalone shell to your ear, you can hear the sea. Egg puts a shell over each ear and he's got the sea in stereo!
Safely back home, he concludes that it's better than listening to the radio.
