Munich, Germany 2098 AD. Twenty years after 'Idlewild', the gengineered children are now adults. Isaac, Vashti, Pandora and Champagne are united in purpose: to resurrect the human race and rebuild civilization. Together they comprise humanity's last, best and perhaps only hope. Halloween, a bitter brooding presence living in self-isolation in N. America, remains cut off from it all.
But already ideological splits are beginning to appear - the Caretakers, Isaac and Pandora, want to return things to the way they were before the Black Ep wiped mankind off the planet, while the Renovators, Vashti and Champagne, believe the only way is by improving society via eugenics - genetic manipulation. And so a new generation of children is born, but as they mature it appears something has gone terribly wrong: the plague returns and begins to collect new victims.
The clock is ticking. The survivor need Halloween, but in order to help save the future, Halloween has to rediscover hope . . .
