Michael's trying to sort his life out. But should he start by . . . 'Dumping Hilary?'
Michael Roe is determined to sort his life out. This means giving up smoking (bad for you), 'The Sunday Times' (annoying, too many bits) and his girlfriend Hilary (local, intelligent, endlessly cheerful, great sex).
Satisfaction lies elsewhere, he thinks. Specifically in the person of his impossibly glamorous and deeply enigmatic work colleague Yasmin, whose smoking technique is second-to-none. Together they embark on an illicit course of Zen Master martini drinking in west London's trendiest bars. Tragically, though, Yasmin's interest in Michael seems to extend only as far as the olive/lemon twist debate.
But when by chance (well sort of) they are thrown together on a business trip to New York, will the City That Never Sleeps work its magic?
