Even though Bonnie knows that Joan is an alcoholic and her words often mean nothing, when the safety of her three-year-old daughter Amanda is at stake she is unable to ignore the call. Instead, Bonnie agrees to meet her husband's ex-wife at an open house on Lombard Street. When she arrives, Joan is sitting at the kitchen table, shot through the heart.
