Compassion has finally been tracked down by the Time Lords and two Tardises are moving in to attack and disable her. She disgorges the Doctor and Fitz in a dark, mysterious, Gallifreyan location, where they are attacked by a gigantic, monster spider, carved from bone, that only the Doctor can see.
The laws of time and space have been bent into meaninglessness in this corridor, and at the end of it the Doctor finds himself alone with a Faction Paradox agent. He is asked to become the possession of the Faction Paradox, and finds himself powerless to resist . . .
The source of these reality paradoxes is the Edifice - a vast, gravity bending structure that is made of bone, and growing all the time - and only the Doctor can gain access to find out what lies within.
