Jocko Willink's methods for success were born in the SEAL Teams, where he spent most of his adult life, enlisting after high school and rising through the ranks to become the commander of the most highly decorated special operations unit of the war in Iraq. In Discipline Equals Freedom, Willink describes how he lives that mantra: the mental and physical disciplines he imposes on himself in order to achieve freedom in all aspects of life. Many books offer advice on how to overcome obstacles and reach your goals-but that advice often misses the most critical ingredient: discipline. Without discipline, there will be no real progress. Discipline Equals Freedom covers it all, including strategies and tactics for conquering weakness, procrastination, and fear, and specific physical training presented in workouts for beginner, intermediate, and advanced athletes, and even the best sleep habits and food intake recommended to optimise performance.

Within these pages discover the keys to becoming stronger, smarter, faster, and healthier. There is only one way to achieve true freedom: The Way of Discipline. Read and this book and find The Way.

Untitled
What a fantastic title and mantra. Jocko Willink is an intimidating man. You know why? Because he does what he says he'll do. How does he do that? Discipline. Why is that intimidating? Because we all love to make excuses. You don't have to be in the military, an entrepreneur, or an athlete to benefit from what Jocko has to say. Discpline benefits every part of life. The book is split into two main sections. The first half is largely philosophical and 'motivational' through bitter truths and mind-set exercises. The second half is mainly related to health and fitness. The end section features increasingly challenging workouts that are largely bodyweight movements. This is a fairly quick read, as the text is large and pages are spacious, but it feels designed for reference, mostly for the workouts. A great 'motivational' book for those who want or need a kick up the butt rather than warm hug. - Matt (QBD)
