The catalog Diego Rivera, Illustrious Words, 1886-1957 is the result of the exhibition of the same name in the Diego Rivera Studio Museum, dedicated to offer a visual tour of Rivera's reflections on art. It presents the conjunction of a selection of texts and quotations of Rivera and the images made by Rivera himself or by the artists who in one way or another had a place in his memory. Words that illustrate, illustrations that speak, these pages confront moments of the history of art in the vision of a great creator. Diego Rivera , in addition to the exceptional gifts that characterised him as a painter, was the owner of a solid humanistic education that served as support for his vast intellectual reflections. While he was on the scaffolding, running a mural, facing the canvases or leaning on a notebook, sketching a drawing, Rivera exercised himself in deep meditations on art and the complex verichuetos of its evolution throughout history, and also Reflected on the duties of the creator, whether in the face of society or the future of his own discipline. 138 illustrations
