Obituary writer Matt Pittman has reached the end of the line. Once a hot-shot investigative reporter with a loving wife and son, now he faces the future alone. Sitting in his bathtub with a pistol in his mouth, Matt prepares to end his life. But, as his finger tightens on the trigger, the phone rings.
On the line is a friend Matt can't refuse, his boss at the paper who needs one last task completed. So Matt postpones his death and finds himself on the wrong end of a man-hunt, wanted by the police and hounded by hitmen determined to silence him forever. As the killer close in, Matt is still determined to die but he's damned if someone else is going to pull the trigger.
