In 1864, confederate captain Patrick Driscoll and his friend and servant, Shadrack "Shad" Bryant, leave their tearful families to defend Raccoon Island off the Savannah coast, the last line of defence against Union attack. But when the two men are killed soon after their arrival, they leave behind the Driscoll family's legacy - the legend of a fortune buried somewhere on the island.
Over a hundred years later, amid political intrigue, personal vendettas, and the lingering effects of a lost war, four friends meet on Raccoon Island to uncover the lost treasure - and the secrets of one of Savannah's most prominent families.
