Danny Lyndon was having a run of bad luck. He didn't deliberately set out to cause trouble but he suddenly seemed to have become very accident prone. Recently, he had broken a school wash basin, smashed a pile of dinner plates and destroyed a new sapling in the school grounds - so it was the last straw when he accidentally broke the headmaster's window and smashed a Grecian vase!
