When the fast-attack nuclear submarine USS "Tulsa" sinks in the Norwegian Sea following a collision with a Russian Sub, the Russians are slow to act, and 36 precious hours are wasted before the American Ambassador is informed. As soon as the news reaches Washington, a search for the "Tulsa" begins, and soon there is a mammoth rescue operation underway, involving the British, the Norwegians, the Russians and the Americans.
But time is running out and the operation is plagued by inadequate equipment, poor communication, the remote location and terrible weather. The media is in a frenzy, while at the bottom of the Norwegian Sea, the crew of the "Tulsa" juggle injury and fear - will they be saved, or will they die in a watery grave?
