Anna has just turned thirty, has secured a partnership in her law firm and is expecting her first baby. However she learns that her husband has been having an affair. She takes off with the baby, in an emotional turmoil, to an empty villa in Portugal for a couple of weeks. She meets Will Turner, single, charming, attractive and wealthy but with a strange past. On her return to England, not able to return to her home and Max, Will offers her a place to live, at his large rambling country house, she finds the past is really very frightening.
