The best-selling definitive biography of Pink Floyd founder and eternal enigma Syd Barrett has been updated to include details of his sad death from cancer in July, 2006. This new edition features exclusive interviews with members of the Barrett family who nursed their famous brother throughout his last illness.
Once considered the undisputed leader of Pink Floyd, Barrett left the group in mysterious circumstances after writing and singing their two early hit singles and most of their first album. While stories of acid-induced madness began to circulate, he made two solo albums which became cult classics. Shortly after their release in 1970, he retired from music.
What happened to Barrett has been a source of constant speculation ever since.
